The world of Antique Jewellery is one filled with treasure hunting and wonder.
There is something magical about antique jewellery. These jewels are steeped in romance, history and character. The antique gems within them, cut to be worn in the soft glow of candlelight, have ever-so-slightly imperfect facets and glisten in ways that can't be replicated by modern cutting techniques. Antique jewels carry moments in time - past, present and future. At Sabrina Antique Jewellery we think of these jewels as heirlooms to be treasured for generations to come.

SABRINA MATTEUCCI BA (HONS) FGA DGA
Sabrina is a trusted expert in antique jewellery. Her career includes almost twenty years at prestigious auction houses and jewellers in London, including Christie's, Bentley & Skinner and Bonhams. During this time she gained diplomas in Gemmology and Diamond Grading from The Gemmological Association of Great Britain and in Appraisal Theory from The National Association of Jewellers. She has an undergraduate degree in History of Art and a lifelong interest in gemstones, sparked by her father's career in the diamond industry.
As a senior jewellery specialist at Bonhams flagship saleroom in London New Bond Street, Sabrina refined her expertise researching and cataloguing collections of important antique, period and signed jewellery. Studying extraordinary jewels first-hand, she developed an eye for rarity and exceptional quality. Highlights from her time at Bonhams include working on the record-breaking sale of a fancy deep-blue diamond ring, handling a collection of rare art deco jewels by Cartier and discovering an important pair of Kashmir sapphire earrings.
In 2020 Sabrina moved to Switzerland with her family and in 2024 founded Sabrina Antique Jewellery. The business is driven by the joy of discovering beautiful pieces of antique jewellery and sharing these unique finds.

THE INSPIRATION BEHIND THE BRAND
At Sabrina Antique Jewellery, we are enchanted by antique gemstones. The task of gem cutters long ago was to create the loveliest gems from the rough, rather than to prioritise weight retention or symmetry. Measured by eye and hand-cut to make the most of each stone's individual beauty, these gemstones are full of movement and life. Their large facets and deep crown create a beautiful display of fire, spectral colours which dance across the stone. In the low light of an evening setting they come into their own, unmatched in scintillation and charm. Typically unenhanced by modern colour or clarity treatments, their beauty is just as nature intended.
We are drawn also to the uniqueness of antique jewels; no two are alike. They are the one-off creations of artisans in possession of now almost extinct skills and attention to detail. Made with the finest and most durable materials, they were designed to last.
We are proud of our collection of predominantly Victorian, Edwardian and Art Deco jewels. Each piece captures a moment in our collective decorative history. Each is a token of love that we hope will continue to endure far beyond our time.
