Sabrina Antique Jewellery was founded in 2024 by Sabrina Matteucci FGA DGA. Sabrina has a BA (Hons) degree in History of Art from University College London and has been a Fellow and Diamond Grading Member of the Gemmological Association of Great Britain since 2009 and 2011 respectively.
With the Certificate of Appraisal Theory from the National Association of Jewellers and years spent as a Senior Jewellery Specialist for Bonhams auction house in London, she has a very well trained eye for fine antique jewellery that is rare and valuable.

There are many reasons to buy antique jewellery. Within antique jewellery there is a vast variety of design and gemstones, something to suit everyone’s individual preferences. The quality of antique jewels is incomparable, thanks to the hours of painstaking craftsmanship that went into their creation by hand. It’s wonderful to be able to give an old jewel a new lease of life, and by doing so be making an ethical and sustainable purchase.

Yes. All of our diamonds are assessed in house by Sabrina who is a qualified diamond grader. We typically obtain a gemmological report for diamonds of very high colour and clarity weighing over 1.50 carats. Unless accompanied by a gemmological report, diamonds have been assessed in the mount to avoid damage to the setting. For this reason, colour, clarity and weight assessments given are estimates only.

We aim to display the jewels as accurately as possible online, however jewellery can look different under different light conditions. We always include multiple images online and are happy to provide further high quality photographs and videos on request. Please do not hesitate to contact us for more images.

Yes. We offer a six month warranty against manufacturing defects - in other words damage that is not due to wear and tear and/or negligence. The warranty does not cover loss or theft and is voided by third party repairs and alterations. Please contact us immediately if there is any issue so that we can evaluate and resolve it. Depending on the nature of the issue, we will either offer a complimentary repair or provide a repair quote from our trusted jeweller. Please note that the customer is responsible for any shipping costs related to the repair. Beyond six months, we will be happy to offer repair advice.

A condition report is a detailed assessment of the present physical condition of a jewel, including characteristics of the gemstone and setting and descriptions of any damage or wear.

On international orders, except to the United States, the buyer/recipient is responsible for all customs charges that may be applied on import into the destination country. Please note that these charges are non-refundable if the item is returned.

In many countries, antique items (aged over 100 years) are exempt from import duty. We will therefore declare these items as ‘personal adornment, over 100 years’ and provide a signed and dated Letter of Antiquity.

You may be liable to pay local taxes on imported items. Please check with your country’s customs office or government website for further information on the import tax/duty rates and regulations of your country before you make your purchase.

Some countries have import restrictions on certain materials including specific gemstones and metals.

Yes. We will email you your tracking number once your order has been shipped.

Beginning April 5, 2025, the United States imposed reciprocal tariffs on most imported goods. The tariff applied is based on the country of origin of each jewel. The majority of our jewels are of UK or European origin and will be subject to estimated 10% or 15% tariffs respectively.

We will ship all United States orders using a Delivery Duty Paid service. The buyer will not be responsible for any duties or tariffs on import into the United States.

Please be aware that if an item is returned, the international customs tax/duty portion of the price paid is non-refundable and will be deducted from the refund. The buyer pays return shipping and is responsible for any return taxes and duties applied.

Yes. At Sabrina Antique Jewellery, we believe that jewellery should truly be adored by the owner. We also recognise that we can only be sure of an item of jewellery once we have tried it on in person. If for any reason you do not fall in love with your purchase, we will accept returns for a full refund. Exchanges and part refunds are possible too.

Items that have been resized, altered, personalised or damaged are non-returnable. They will not be accepted for a refund.

Most of our rings can be resized, with the exception of rings with an intricately decorated band. If a ring cannot be resized, this will be stated in the description. 

If you are certain of your ring size, we are delighted to offer complimentary ring sizing with your order. Simply select the required ring size in the drop-down menu when you add the item to your basket and add a note about this at check-out. Please be aware that resized rings are non-returnable.

If you are unsure of your ring size or wish to try the ring on first, we recommend taking your ring to a trusted jeweller to be resized at a later date.

Our business focuses on existing antique jewellery. However, if you would like a bespoke ring made using antique gemstones, we would be delighted to undertake the project in collaboration with an artisan jeweller. Please note that there is a CHF 250 upfront design fee and we require a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total cost once the design has been agreed. Please allow six months for completion. All of our packaging is sustainable. Our paper packaging is FSC-certified, sourced responsibly from sustainable forests and made locally in the EU. Our leather boxes and pouches come from a sustainable and ethical company who work with dedicated artisans in Bangladesh, providing them an outlet for their skills and a steady, fair income to support themselves and their families as well as educate their children. They exclusively use by-products of the local food industry, helping to further reduce waste in their country and our environment. Each skin is coloured using a traditional vegetable tanning process, creating a much smaller impact on the environment compared to the typical chemical tanning processes.

Delicate pieces should be cleaned very gently. To remove fingerprints from stone surfaces, wipe with a lint-free cloth. For a more thorough clean, gently brush all over with a toothbrush and warm sudsy water. Please note that foiled-back antique pieces should never be wet.For deeper cleaning, an ultrasonic cleaner is a brilliant option for the most durable jewels. Please note that it should never be used with emeralds, pearls or other porous, organic or treated gemstones and it could damage very delicate antique settings. An ultrasonic cleaner is considered safe to use with plain diamond jewellery and hard, untreated gemstones including sapphire and ruby. It creates microscopic bubbles in the water that scrub and remove dirt from the surfaces and crevices of the jewel effectively. We recommend using a drop of fairy liquid in the water instead of harsher solutions. When in doubt, please always check the suitability of your chosen cleaning method for your jewel first.

We recommend bringing your antique jewellery to a trusted jeweller at least once a year for an inspection and gentle clean. Settings may weaken due to daily wear and occasionally will require maintenance to ensure the security of the gemstones. If your jewel has an antique patina (a delicate tarnish that has grown naturally over time and is considered a marker of authenticity in antique jewellery), please remember to ask the jeweller not to polish it away.
